As of 1 June 2021, according to the points I.13 and I.14 of the valid Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (only in Czech) the visa processing at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi is still temporarily suspended until further notice. This applies for all submitted and decided (approved/refused) applications as well as for accepting new applications. Applicants who have already been granted the appointment date for lodging visa applications were contacted by email by the consular staff with further information. The Embassy will inform about the resumption of visa processing promptly.
Furthermore, rules for travelling from India and Nepal to the Czech Republic were updated on 1 June 2021. According to the pt. I.10 of the above-mentioned Protective Measure (only in Czech), all nationals of India/Nepal who were staying for more than 12 hours during the last 14 days in India/Nepal and foreign nationals who were staying for more than 12 hours during the last 14 days in India/Nepal are prohibited from entering the territory of the Czech Republic. This does not apply, among others, to foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit of the Czech Republic, EU citizens with a temporary residence certificate of the Czech Republic and family members of CZ/EU citizens (as defined in Section 15(a) para. 1 of Act No. 326/1999 Coll.) with a temporary residence permit of the Czech Republic. Holders of a short-term or a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit are not allowed to travel to the Czech Republic.
As of 27 April 2021, India was added on the list of countries with an extreme risk of transmission of COVID-19 disease. As of 22 May 2021, Nepal was also added on this list (see Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health). According to this measure, all citizens of the Czech Republic and foreign nationals with residence in the Czech Republic are banned to enter India/Nepal (this does not apply to citizens of India/Nepal and to travels, which cannot be postponed due to their nature and which were announced beforehand to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic).
