Temporary suspension of the visa processing and current conditions on travelling to/from India

As of April 27, 2021, according to the points I.13 and I.14 of the valid Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (only in Czech), the visa processing at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi is suspended temporarily until further notice. The Embassy will inform about the resumption of visa processing promptly. This applies for all submitted and decided (approved/refused) long-term visa/residence permit applications as well as for accepting new applications. Applicants who have already been granted the appointment date for lodging visa applications were contacted by email by the consular staff with further information.

Furthermore, new rules for travelling from India to the Czech Republic has come into effect since April 27, 2021. All nationals of India and foreign nationals who were staying for more than 12 hours during the last 14 days in India are prohibited from entering the territory of the Czech Republic. According to the pt. I.10 of the above-mentioned Protective Measure, this does not apply, among others, to foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit of the Czech Republic, EU citizens with a temporary residence certificate of the Czech Republic and family members of CZ/EU citizens with a temporary residence permit of the Czech Republic. Holders of a long-term residence permit of the Czech Republic (biometric card) may enter the Czech Republic only with the “Repatriation Note” issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. In this case, please contact directly Visa Department of the Ministry via email vo3@mzv.cz. Holders of a short-term or long-term visa are not allowed to travel to the Czech Republic.

As of April 27, 2021, India was added on the list of countries with an extreme risk of transmission of COVID-19 disease (see Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health, only in Czech). According to this measure, all citizens of the Czech Republic and foreign nationals with residence in the Czech Republic are banned to enter India (this does not apply to citizens of India and to travels, which cannot be postponed due to their nature and which were announced beforehand to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic).
