Partial resumption of visa agenda at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi

As of 23 August 2021 India is not listed by Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic as a country with extreme risk of COVID-19 therefore visa agenda at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi is significantly extending.
 

Effective from 23 August 2021 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi in compliance  with Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic is entitled to accept  following visa/residence permits applications:

 

Schengen visas

● family members of EU / CZ citizens

● unmarried partners of EU / CZ citizens

● in the interest of the Czech Republic

seasonal workers (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

● health, social services, and food processing employees

● employees in scientific, key and highly qualified professions fulfilling conditions of the Highly Qualified Worker Program and Key and Research Staff Program

● international transport workers

● critical infrastructure workers 

● diplomats and officials of international organizations

● in exceptional emergency situations as defined in pt. II.  2i) of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health

 

Long-term visas/residence permits

● long-term visa for the purpose of seasonal employment (based on decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 coll.)

● special work visa

● visas / residence permits within the Key and scientific personnel program, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the Highly qualified employees program, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the Program qualified employee  

● permanent residence permits for compatriots (based on decree no. 1014/2014)

● blue cards and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

● long-term residence permits for the purpose of scientific research and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

● long-term visas for the purpose of study - visas can be issued for studies as defined by the act on stay of foreign nationals - see this article for definition (point "for the purpose of these applications, “study” comprises the following educational activities")

● residence permits for the purpose of study - visas can be issued for studies as defined by the act on stay of foreign nationals - see this article for definition (point "for the purpose of these applications, “study” comprises the following educational activities")

● long-term and permanent residence permits for the purpose of family unification, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the czech republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

● long-term visas for the family purpose, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the czech republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

● visas for the purpose of collecting residence permits (the so-called d/vr type visa) – the so-called visa sticker transfer – for any purpose of stay

● long-term visas and residence permits if the foreign national´s stay is in the interest of the czech republic and is supported by a corresponding document

● long-term visas for the purpose of culture and sport

 

 

The Embassy of the Czech Republic will first schedule the appointment dates in chronological order for applicants whose appointments were cancelled due to closure of the visa section of the Embassy. Booking system for will be opened in September.

 

 

The list of visa purposes mentioned above does not apply to applicants from Nepal as Nepal is still listed by Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic as a country with extreme risk of COVID-19. Applicants from Nepal are eligible to apply only for following purposes:

 

● long-term visas and long-term residence permits for the purpose of study in accredited study programs at Czech universities in the academic year 2021/2022

● Schengen visas for family members of EU / CZ citizens

● Schengen visas unmarried partners of EU / CZ citizens

● Schengen visas in the interest of the Czech Republic

● Schengen visas foreign nationals who are professional athletes or persons representing countries internationally and to persons necessary for a sporting event, if the entry is in the interest of the Czech Republic in the field of sports, provided that such interest of the Czech Republic is supported by the corresponding document based on the agreement of the Ministry of Health

 

It is still prohibited to accept visa applications for tourist, business or family/friends visit purposes.

 

Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic also allows all applicants who prove that they underwent complete vaccination against COVID-19 to apply for visa without any limitations. In that case applicant must be holder of recognized certificate of COVID-19 vaccination.

 

List of recognized COVID-19 certificates by Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic

 

COVID-19 vaccination certificates issued by countries in the territorial jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives) are currently not recognized by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Therefore applicants from these countries are eligible to apply only for visa purpose mentioned in the list above.
