Unique "Bamboo School" in Bal Prativa village, about 70 km from Kathmandu, was inaugurated on 28 April 2013 by Ambassador Mr. Miloslav Stašek, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Kathmandu Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, representatives of DCWC (Development Center for Women and Children), Namaste Nepal representatives, local politicians and local children who attended the school. The school is intended to primary and secondary school and can be attended by approx. 150 pupils.

Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Kathmandu Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agarwal donated to all the future pupils school kits and sport equipment for school.

The project of Bamboo school is a design project by Czech architects for its Nepali partners DCWC which was awarded in the international architectural competition "Better Classroom Design" organized by "Architecture for Humanity" organization in 2009. Technologies and materials were already tested in Nepal in 2010 with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The school is designed to be earthquake resistant. The school building design, traditional materials and technologies such as bamboo or clay, can easily be replicated by other local communities.
With the help of the Czech Development Aid, the building tools, construction apparatus and school equipment were bought in October 2012, worth of almost 15 000 USD.
