Czech Ambassador Mr. Milan Hovorka held the first ever
joint meeting of Honorary Consuls who represent the Czech Republic in
India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka in Delhi between May 16-17, 2016.
The meeting offered an excellent opportunity to discuss how to further deepen and enhance relations between the Czech Republic and respective states in trade, investment, student exchange, tourism and interpersonal relationships.
Honorary consuls were also informed about current developments in the
Czech Republic, recent changes in consular practice the country and
plans to increase its presence in the region.
H.E. Milan Hovorka summed up: "We had a great meeting. It allowed me and
my team to thank the Honorary Consuls for their tireless efforts to
promote the interests of the Czech Republic in India, Bangladesh, Nepal
and Sri Lanka, and for their tireless work to strengthen bilateral
partnerships with these countries. The meeting provided very productive
framework for finding new synergies and for substantial debate on the
range of important issues in our bilateral relations, and allowed us to
move forward in our shared agenda. At the same time I am delighted that
we got to know each other better and managed to build on both
professional and personal relationships."
