Working Visit of the Czech Parliamentarians to Nepal

Date: 18 September 2016 - 21 September 2016, Venue: Kathmandu

A high-level delegation led by Vojtech Filip, Vice Speaker of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, was recently in Nepal on a three-day visit to promote interparliamentary relations between the two countries and take long-lasting mutual relationship to a higher level.

During the visit, the delegation, which included members of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, was received by Rt. Hon'ble Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, and met with the Speaker, Vice-Speaker and members of the Legislative Committee of the Legislature Parliament of Nepal.

Hovorka-Nepal

It also interacted with various ministers, senior government officials, representatives of judiciary and private sector leaders. According to non-resident Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Nepal Milan Hovorka who was accompanying the delegation in Kathmandu, it was a very sucessful visit which represents a new milestone in relations between the two nations. "It helped both parties to address in a very concrete and result oriented manner the ways and means to strengthen mutual cooperation in areas like investment, trade, energy, education, cultural exchanges and tourism. I am particularly excited that in my efforts as the Czech Ambassador to Nepal I can count very much on efficient support of the Parliament of the Czech Republic."
